To me mandala art is like an optical illusion, where the mind creates three dimensional space out of two dimensions. Stare at the forms long enough and physical space begins to expand in the minds eye, unfolding impossibly, expanding infinitely, conflicting spatial information shorting out the assumptions of the minds chatter, revealing that which lies beneath the surface.
